You’ve seen them grow, heard their first giggles, and held them close during late nights. Now, as they take their first steps towards independence, you can’t help but marvel at the incredible person they’re becoming. Your love for them deepens with each passing day, and it’s a gentle reminder to treasure these fleeting moments as they embark on an amazing journey ahead.

The Cake Smash Experience

I understand that this is a special moment for you and your family, and want to make it as enjoyable and memorable as possible. Please let me know if you have any special requests or needs, I will do my best to accommodate them and make the entire experience as special as possible.

THE PLANNING

Cake smash sessions are usually scheduled about 2 weeks before the birthday, or earlier if you would like your prints to be ready before the date. Please reach out to us ahead of time (a couple months before the big day) to get a spot reserved on our calendar.

Upon booking we will discuss the theme of the session (it could be anything that your baby or yourself likes – Mermaid, Baby shark, Princess, dinosaurs, unicorns, Mickey Mouse, Fairy, Butterflies, pirate, sailor, trucks etc.) or we can do beautiful balloon garland of your preferred colors. Set up can be as whimsical or as simple as you prefer. We will also discuss the outfits for the baby and parents (if you would like to include couple of family photos).

THE SESSION

One year old photo sessions usually last about 1 – 1.5 hours. We start with a themed setup, then baby “smashing the cake”, then baby taking bath in our adorable tiny bathtub. We can use the same setup/background or switch to a different one, such as duckies which has been chosen by many parents.

After the clean up, we will take additional photos of the baby in a different outfit and backdrop, followed by family photos if you prefer.

THE IMAGE REVEAL

The reveal of your photo session images is a special moment that I take great care to make it perfect for you. After the session, I will carefully edit and retouch a selection of the best images and schedule a time for you to come in to the studio to view the final images. You will watch a slide show with your beautiful images on a large screen and then go through them individually.

I will help you choose your favorite images and guide you through the process of selecting the perfect art for your home.

How long do cake smash sessions usually last?

Sessions are approximately 1-1.5 hours. Please know there is no real “timer” on our sessions, the above is an estimate and sessions may take less or more time.

How long will it take to see my photos?

We can schedule a viewing appointment within 2 weeks of your session to view your pictures.

How many pictures will I get?

This depends on the package you purchase.

Do you give the original RAW image files?

No, we do not give RAW images.

How long does it take to receive my order?

Most orders take around 2 weeks, however retouching may add time in delivery. We will let you know your estimated delivery time at time of ordering.

Can I order more pictures later?

Yes you can. We can only guarantee holding images for 30 days, however we store our images on backups and usually can go back quite some time on image files.
